Početkom godine na Wiredu su objavili 100 citata koje svaki geek mora znati, a koji su proglašeni u najmanju ruku – nepotpunima. Osim što su čitatelji imali još puno svojih prijedloga, zamijećeno je da su samo 4 došla iz ženskih usta (5 ako se računa litanija protiv smrti, koje podučavaju Bene Gesserit u Dini, 6 ako računate “So say we all” iz Battlestar Galactice) …

Pa je tako nastala i lista 100 Quotes Every Geek Should Know – The Positively, Gratuitously, Lovingly Grrrl Geek Edition. Međutim, mi na NOSF-u nismo zadovoljni ni s ovom listom, pa smo sastavili svoju listu citata naših omiljenih geeketa - ženskih likova iz omiljenih SF serija i omiljenih SF spisateljica …
